Swiss Wire E.D.M. specializes in complex prototype & production EDM services for the aerospace, medical, & commercial industries, with a particular capability for machining large components. Our proprietary technology allows us to EDM parts as tall as 48", and workpieces weighing up to 4500 pounds.
By contrast, they have a number of production contracts involving parts that are small enough, almost to be considered microscopic, and corner radii less than 0.001.
Many of the latest exotic alloys used in the aerospace industry such as titanium and molybdenum are much more easily machined with EDM than with conventional machining techniques.
We meet the most demanding EDM specifications for a wide variety of materials such as aluminum, steel, copper, tungsten-carbide, graphite as well as exotic metals such as titanium and molybdenum.
Our climate controlled facility offers the latest in 5-axis EDM Machines, and can process components weighing from a few grams to over 4000 lbs and measuring up to 60" diameter. We cut parts up to 48" thick, angles to 30 degrees and corner radii less than 0.002". Our 19 EDM machines operate 24/7 as necessary to meet delivery requirements.
We specialize in injector plates for propulsion systems. Our capabilities include (5) axis machining processes producing hole sizes down to .0050" diameter with impingement within .0010". This includes post-bond processing with underneath clearance less than .030". We have successfully produced rocket boosters demonstrating
